It is with great pleasure we invite you to attend the 4th International Symposium on Filamentation (COFIL 2012) which will be held in Tucson, Arizona, USA, in October 2012.

COFIL 2012 is the fourth of a very successful series of conferences organized every 2 years. The previous editions took place in Quebec (Canada) in 2006, Paris (France) in 2008 and Crete (Greece) in 2010.

This Symposium is addressed to scientists who lead fundamental and applied research in femtosecond laser filamentation in transparent optical media and applications, as well as scientists from other fields interested in this field of research. The goal is to gather the majority of scientists working in this field and discuss present status and future perspectives.

The 2012 meeting aims to enhance awareness of current research activities and recent developments, draw attendance from leading professionals from all over the world and bring together a large representative of top-level scientists and researchers in this field. It is an opportunity for the whole community to meet, create new collaborations, share technical information and build trustworthy relationships internationally.

This event will take place in the beautiful city of Tucson, famed for its breathtaking desert landscape, warm climate, 350 days of sunshine, in a luxurious resort and spa nestled in the Santa Catalina Mountain range.
